Las Vegas Strip The Non Flashy

We spent out Christmas Holiday in Vegas this year and this is the city of excess.  Glitz and over the top has another side.  These photos were taken right on the strip.


Transplated potted trees left to die because the construction project ran out of money.

Sidewalks with boards in them to keep people form entering the closed hotel casino complex.

Parking lots from torn down casinos with stalled constuction projects that sits awaiting a new owner.

Foundations dug then all work stopped.

Structures finished on the outside sitting vacant and unfinished.

Back to Upstate Reality

It has been unseasonalby warm the last couple of months and we have had only a dusting of the fun white stuff untill now. Snow Baby Snow!

Vegas at Christmas

We hopped plane an did a Vegas Christmas this year. Being from the North East Christmas is spent differently than in Vegas. We did not see the sesonal lights and decorations that we are used to back home however the Vegas Strip Glitz more than made up for that. No bike pics on this trip.  This is the good side of Vegas. I will post some pics later of the post 2009 construction bust.

Singer Castle on Dark Island NY

We went to Alexandria Bay in Thousand Islands New York. The ride up was uneventful but when we got there we hopped a boat on the St. Lawrence River and headed 45 minutes downstream to a Landmark that was opened to the public in 2008. I tell you this Structure and Island is right out of a Vincent Price movie or a Scooby Doo Cartoon. There were secret passage ways, prison cells in towers, pictures that tilted so you could spy on visitors from a hidden catwalk and other crazy things.
