havent gotten much done lately, managed to get a couple friends to hold the motor while i twisted out the other head bolts, so now i have the cam side off, the primary open, and the heads off............ whats next???

gotta get my hands on a special tool to get the clutch off and than the transmission pulled out

 I suppose if I cant make this one up myself I don't deserve to have an ironhead, or atleast i wont have a running one very long. so that's next on the docket make this tool, get the tranny out, shift rod swapped out and start putting it all back together fixing and gasketing as i go.

just sold a parts bike Kawasaki i had kicking around so now the question is what do i NEED the most.........

Sportster clutch tool cont..........

turns out the wall height was to tall, cut it down roughly half an inch

the new issue now that i can put it down over the adjustment bolt is that i cant seem to reach the snap ring with the pliers so my plans to cut some material off the top......

now my intial idea was to cut both sides because thats how the other tools ive seen are made, but after giving it some thought dont see the need for both as theres only one snap ring to get to and i can just line it up as i tighten it down

also noticed a little flexing when i tightened it down the other night so ill add a fender washer to help stiffen it up a bit

Cheap Trick- sportster clutch tool

so if you gotta get into your evo sporty clutch you need a special tool, i searched high and low for the best price $50-$75!!, if friends had one, hell i even posted a listing asking to rent or borrow one on forums........

heres what i came up with for 3.99!!!

3" PVC cap

cut some windows out the side, and hole in the middle (thanks Joe!)

in the next day or so im hoping to test it out and see whats up in my clutch, the only thing i fear i might run into is if the wall height on the tool is to tall....... full report to follow
